Conscious Consumption in an Abundant World

I used to think thrifting was something you did until you could afford not to. When I finally entered the workforce, I remember thinking, "Finally! I don't have to thrift anymore!" But the more I bought into fast fashion and buying new, the more I started to feel like a f****ng fool. 🥴 In this episode, I unpack why.
From the fashion industry's massive environmental impact, to the sheer volume of waste generated every second, I take a closer look at the true cost of convenience. When we stop expecting instant gratification and start embracing secondhand as a kind of treasure hunt, buying directly from people, or donating within our communities, we keep resources circulating locally and reduce unnecessary waste. Join me in rethinking value in a system that equates success with spending, and recognizing that secondhand isn't a limitation but a smarter, more conscious way to tread a little lighter on this Earth.
In this episode,
🛍️The state of the global clothing industry: Waste, pollution, exploitation & corporate greed
🪞Changing cultural expectations: The internal mindset shift to live secondhand life
🤝Thinking beyond thrift stores: Other options for clothing donations and resale that keep money in our communities
